DisputeStatus
Where a chargeback stands according to the acquirer. The dashboard shows it as the status badge of a dispute; the label is given first below.
NEEDS_RESPONSE- Needs response. A formal chargeback was received. The only status that accepts a response, until theworkByDateday (UTC) ends.UNDER_REVIEW- Under review. A response was filed and the issuer or card network is reviewing it.WON- Won. The dispute ended in favour of the merchant: it was decided for the merchant, or the issuer withdrew it. The disputed funds return with a later payout.LOST- Lost. The dispute was decided against the merchant after a response was filed.EXPIRED- Expired. The deadline passed with no response filed. This is also a loss.WARNING_NEEDS_RESPONSE- Inquiry. Retrieval request: the issuer asks for documents before it decides on a chargeback. Nothing has been debited, and no response can be filed.WARNING_UNDER_REVIEW- Inquiry under review. Retrieval request awaiting the card network. No longer set; older chargebacks may still carry it.WARNING_CLOSED- Closed. The pre-dispute stage ended without a formal chargeback. Money can still have moved: a case settled by refunding the cardholder arrives as a negative payout.
