Block customers with the blacklist
The blacklist lets you stop specific customers from paying. Any transaction that comes from a blacklisted email address, phone number, or IP address is automatically rejected by MONEI.
Add a blacklist rule
- In your MONEI Dashboard, go to Settings → Blacklist.
- Choose the identifier type — Email, Phone, or IP.
- Enter the value to block (the email address, phone number, or IP address).
- Optionally set an expiration date and time — the rule is removed automatically once it passes. Leave it empty for a permanent rule.
- Add an optional note to record why you added the rule.
- Save.
From then on, any transaction matching that identifier is declined automatically.
How matching works
A transaction is blocked only when it matches a blacklisted identifier exactly. If the same person pays with a different email address, phone number, or IP address, that transaction is not blocked — so combine the blacklist with the Fraud Detector for broader, risk-based protection.
Expire or remove rules
- Rules with an expiration date and time are removed automatically once it passes.
- Permanent rules (no expiration) stay until you delete them.
- To remove a rule manually, open Settings → Blacklist and delete it.
