# MONEI fees

**With MONEI One you only pay when you process payments.** It is one plan for every merchant, with the full platform from day one and no lock-in. Pricing is transparent and **volume-based — your per-transaction rate improves as you sell more**. You pay your per-transaction fees and a small daily platform fee, plus optional technology services (such as Fraud Detector or bringing your own acquirer) only when you use them.

Andorra-based businesses are served through **Creand Crèdit Andorrà**, which sets and handles pricing directly. MONEI provides the technical payment platform — for pricing, see [Andorra onboarding](https://docs.monei.com/onboarding/onboarding-by-country/.md#andorra) or contact Creand Crèdit Andorrà's Online Payments team.

## Per-transaction fees[](#per-transaction-fees "Direct link to Per-transaction fees")

You pay two fees on each transaction, always shown separately:

1. **Interchange++.** The cost of accepting each card payment — the **scheme fees** (interchange and card-scheme fees set by Visa and Mastercard), plus a flat **0.10% acquiring fee** (the acquirer markup, when you use MONEI's acquiring). It's deducted directly from your settlements, so you receive the net amount and it never appears on your MONEI invoice.
2. **MONEI fee.** Charged on top of Interchange++ and billed on your [weekly invoice](#invoices). For cards it's **progressive by monthly volume** online (it decreases as you sell more) and flat for card-present; Bizum has its own flat rate.

The card tables below show both columns — the **acquiring fee** (**Interchange++** on cards) and the **MONEI fee**. Your payment fees (per-transaction and refund fees) are **VAT-exempt**.

MONEI only charges its fee on **successful payments** — never on failed payments — and never charges a fee to issue a refund. See [Refunds](#refunds) for how a refunded payment's fees are handled.

### E-commerce (online)[](#e-commerce-online "Direct link to E-commerce (online)")

Card and digital wallet payments use progressive pricing — the MONEI fee decreases as your monthly volume grows:

| Payment method | Monthly volume | Acquiring fee | MONEI fee |

| | €500K–1M | Scheme fees + 0.10% | 0.60% + €0.25 |
| | €1M–5M | Scheme fees + 0.10% | 0.25% + €0.25 |
| | €5M+ | Scheme fees + 0.10% | 0.15% + €0.25 |

For other online payment methods, the same two-part structure applies — the **acquiring fee** is deducted from your settlements, and the **MONEI fee** is billed on your weekly invoice — but these rates are fixed and do not change by monthly volume. MONEI never charges its fee on refunds:

| Payment method | Monthly volume | Acquiring fee¹ | MONEI fee¹ |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------- | -------------------------------- | ------------- |
| [Bizum](https://docs.monei.com/payment-methods/bizum/.md) | Any volume | €0.17 (not returned on refund) | 1.29% + €0.25 |
| [Multibanco](https://docs.monei.com/payment-methods/multibanco/.md) | | 1.20% + €0.45 (€0.10 per refund) | 0.90% + €0.20 |
| [MB WAY](https://docs.monei.com/payment-methods/mb-way/.md) | | 1.00% + €0.08 (€0.25 per refund) | 0.40% + €0.20 |
| [PayPal](https://docs.monei.com/payment-methods/paypal/.md) | | Variable | 0.20% + €0.10 |

*¹ **Acquiring fees** are charged by the payment processor and deducted from your settlements; the **MONEI fee** is billed on your weekly invoice — MONEI never charges for refunds. On Bizum the €0.17 acquiring fee on the original payment isn't returned when you refund; on Multibanco and MB WAY a separate fixed fee (no percentage) applies to each refund. **Multibanco and MB WAY also carry a one-time €10 setup fee** (VAT-exempt) — charged once per merchant, not per method, by the payment processor and deducted from your first settlement. PayPal's acquiring fee is **variable** — you negotiate and pay it directly to PayPal, so MONEI doesn't know, bill, or collect it.*

Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Click to Pay are processed as card payments and carry **no additional fee** beyond the card rates above.

*Example:* at €10,000 of monthly card volume (the €0–500K tier), your MONEI fee is **0.90% + €0.25 per transaction** — plus Interchange++ (scheme fees + 0.10%), deducted at settlement.

### In-person payments[](#in-person-payments "Direct link to In-person payments")

| Payment method | Acquiring fee | MONEI fee |
| ------------------------- | ------------------- | ------------- |
| Cards and Tap to Pay | Scheme fees + 0.10% | 0.25% + €0.00 |
| Bizum Pay *(coming soon)* | €0.17 | 0.90% + €0.00 |

### MONEI Flex installments[](#monei-flex "Direct link to MONEI Flex installments")

When a customer splits a card payment into installments with [MONEI Flex](https://docs.monei.com/payment-methods/monei-flex/.md), a **2.4%** fee is added to your MONEI fee on that sale — on top of the standard card rates above. You're settled the full purchase amount upfront, and the customer's bank finances the installments and carries the credit risk. MONEI Flex is available in Spain on request.

### Refunds[](#refunds "Direct link to Refunds")

MONEI never charges a fee to issue a refund. The payment processor's **acquiring costs**, however, aren't recovered — they stay deducted from your settlements:

* **Cards:** the original payment's Interchange++ (scheme fees + the 0.10% acquiring fee) isn't returned.
* **Bizum:** the original payment's **€0.17** acquiring fee isn't returned.
* **Multibanco and MB WAY:** a separate flat refund fee — **€0.10 on Multibanco, €0.25 on MB WAY**, with no percentage — is charged on top of the original transaction fee.

### Estimate your fees[](#estimate-your-fees "Direct link to Estimate your fees")

## Daily platform fee[](#daily-platform-fee "Direct link to Daily platform fee")

MONEI One also has a daily platform fee of **€0.15 per day** (VAT-exempt), which keeps your account active. It appears on your weekly invoice and is billed **only for weeks in which you process payments** — weeks with no payments cost you nothing.

## Technology services[](#technology-services "Direct link to Technology services")

These are optional and billed on top of your per-transaction fees — you only pay for what you use. Prices shown exclude VAT; **VAT is added to every technology service except those marked (VAT-exempt)**.

*² **Orchestration rules** are **included free** for every merchant — whether you use MONEI acquiring or bring your own. Use [routing rules](https://docs.monei.com/payments/orchestration/.md) to route, split, hide, or block payments per transaction.*

*³ **Bring your own acquirer** applies when you connect your own external acquirer — for example [Redsys](https://docs.monei.com/onboarding/connect-redsys-tpv-virtual/.md), [Stripe](https://docs.monei.com/onboarding/connect-stripe/.md), or another acquirer — and route those payments through MONEI. It doesn't apply to payments processed with MONEI's own acquiring.*

*⁴ **Chargeback and dispute fees** are deducted from your settlements (VAT-exempt), not billed on your weekly invoice.*

## Interchange pricing[](#interchange "Direct link to Interchange pricing")

Interchange++ (IC++) is the pass-through part of your per-transaction fee. Interchange and card-scheme fees are paid to the customer's issuing bank and the card networks — not kept by MONEI — and on top sits a flat **0.10% acquiring fee** (the acquirer markup, when you use MONEI's acquiring). The whole amount is deducted directly from your settlements. Here's how it breaks down and what drives it.

### How Interchange++ works[](#how-interchange-works "Direct link to How Interchange++ works")

Credit card [payment processing](https://monei.com/blog/payment-gateway-vs-payment-processor/) involves a few different players, and each has different fees:

* The card-issuing bank (or the issuer) charges an [interchange fee](https://monei.com/blog/what-are-interchange-fees/)
* The first + is the card scheme fee that goes to Mastercard or Visa in exchange for using their network
* The second + is the acquirer markup fee charged for acquiring funds from the cardholder — a flat **0.10%** when you use MONEI's acquiring

See an example with our [fee calculator](#estimate-your-fees) above.

### How are interchange fees determined?[](#how-fees-determined "Direct link to How are interchange fees determined?")

Interchange rates are set by card schemes like Mastercard and Visa. Interchange fees and scheme fees are influenced by factors like card type, transaction regionality (domestic or cross-border payments), merchant category code (MCC), and transaction type (online or in-person).

### Average IC++ fees[](#average-fees "Direct link to Average IC++ fees")

For transactions over €5 made with a consumer card, depending on the card network and type (debit/credit):

* Domestic transactions (Spain): between 0.4% and 0.5%
* Transactions within the EU: between 0.5% and 0.7%
* Transactions outside the EU: between 2.5% and 3%

## Billing and invoices[](#invoices "Direct link to Billing and invoices")

MONEI bills you **weekly**. Every **Tuesday**, we issue one invoice covering the previous week (**Monday–Sunday, UTC**). It includes the **MONEI fee**, the **daily platform fee**, and any **technology services** you used that week. Interchange++ is **not** on this invoice — it's deducted directly from your settlements.

**We only issue an invoice for weeks in which you process at least one payment.** A week with no payments generates no invoice — so the daily platform fee and any recurring per-week or per-day technology services (SFTP export, custom domain, additional users) aren't charged that week either.

This is separate from when you get paid: payouts follow your own settlement period, not the invoicing schedule. See [Payouts and settlements](https://docs.monei.com/manage-account/payouts-and-settlements/.md) for when funds reach your account.

The Interchange++ and acquiring fees deducted from each settlement are itemized in its **operations file**, which you can download from the **Settlements** section of your [dashboard](https://dashboard.monei.com/). See [Payouts and settlements](https://docs.monei.com/manage-account/payouts-and-settlements/.md) for how.

To view or download an invoice:

1. Log in to your [MONEI dashboard](https://dashboard.monei.com/) (or use this [direct link to Settings → Billing](https://dashboard.monei.com/settings/billing)).
2. Go to **Settings → Billing**.
3. Under **Billing history**, find the invoice you want.
4. Open its actions menu (the **⋯** button) and click **Download Invoice** — or **Preview Invoice** to view it first.
