Multiple accounts

You can create more than one MONEI account under the same login — with the same business details, or with different ones, for example a new company. To segment payments inside one account — by location, brand, or register — use stores and points of sale instead; a second account is only needed when the setup itself must differ.

Create another account from the account menu in the top-right corner of your MONEI Dashboard: open it and click Create another account.

Name the account, and select Copy business data to the new account? to reuse the business details, bank account, and fees of the account you are in. Leave it unselected to give the new account different business details — you enter them in the onboarding steps of the new account. Then click Create.

Reasons to use a separate account include:

  • Running a different website or store that needs its own integration and settings
  • Keeping logistics, accounting, or reporting fully separate
  • Giving a team its own dashboard access, with no visibility into the other account
  • Sending payouts to a different bank account — though you can also settle each store to its own IBAN inside a single account
note

You cannot create more accounts with the same business details by registering them separately from the signup page. Always create additional accounts from your first account — an account created this way can't create further accounts. You are still the owner of every account, but you can add another user as an admin.

Move from self-employed to a company

If you started with MONEI as self-employed (autónomo) and now operate as a company, you don't register again. Create a new account for the company under your existing login, and keep the same access to both:

  1. In your self-employed account, open the account menu and click Create another account.
  2. Name the account after the company and leave Copy business data to the new account? unselected. Click Create.
  3. Switch to the new account and complete onboarding: pick Company as the legal form, enter the company's Tax Identification Number, add its bank account, and sign the contract. The account is reviewed like any new account.
  4. When the new account is approved, move your integration to it: paste the new account's API keys into your plugin or code, and check its payment methods and settings.
  5. Keep the self-employed account open until you no longer need it. Payments taken in it stay there, so you refund them from that account, and saved cards don't move (see below). To close it, contact support.

Payouts of the new account go to the company's bank account. Payments taken in the old account are still settled to the old bank account.

Switch between your accounts

Every account you own stays under the same login. Open the account menu, choose Switch account, and select the account you want. The Dashboard reloads in that account; the account you came from is unchanged.

Each account keeps its own settings, API keys, payment processors, and payouts. Make sure you are in the correct account before you change a setting or copy an API key.

Common questions

We've changed from self-employed to a company — what should we do?

Create a new account for the company under your existing login, without copying the business data, and complete onboarding as a company. Your login, and the other users you invite, work in both accounts. See Move from self-employed to a company.

Can one account act on another account's payments?

No. Accounts are separate. A payment, a refund, a capture, or a subscription belongs to the account that created it, and an API key only works in its own account. You can't refund from account A a payment taken in account B, and reporting never spans accounts.

Can I move saved cards to another account?

Not by yourself. Saved card tokens belong to the account that created them, so a customer saved in one account is unknown in the other and would have to enter their card again. Migrating tokens between accounts is possible in rare cases, such as a business restructuring — contact our support team to ask whether your case qualifies.
