# Payouts and settlements

This page explains when you get paid, how the settlement period is calculated, how to download the operations file for a payout, and how to change your IBAN.

## When will I get paid?[](#settlements "Direct link to When will I get paid?")

By default, MONEI settles your payments into the IBAN linked to your MONEI account **7 days after the transaction date (T+7)**. As you build a trusted, low-risk history with MONEI, this can be shortened — verified merchants get **next-day settlement (T+1)**.

Your settlement period depends on:

* The risk level of your business
* Sales volume
* How long you've been a MONEI payment gateway user

Your first payout

For new accounts, the **first settlement can take up to 30 days** while we complete initial verification and risk assessment. Once that's cleared, you move to your standard settlement period.

Payouts are processed on **business days**. If a payout is scheduled for a weekend, it moves to the next working day.

### How the settlement period is calculated[](#period "Direct link to How the settlement period is calculated")

Transactions are grouped into daily settlement periods by the **UTC** calendar day — **00:00:00 to 23:59:59 UTC** — regardless of your local time zone.

Peninsular Spain runs **one hour ahead of UTC in winter (CET) and two in summer (CEST)**, so in Spanish time the cut-off between one period and the next falls at **01:00 (winter)** or **02:00 (summer)** — not at local midnight. A sale made between midnight and that cut-off counts toward the **previous** day's period, because in UTC it's still the day before.

When you reconcile a payout against your own records, group your transactions by the UTC day — or [export your payments](https://docs.monei.com/manage-account/transaction-history/.md#download) in the **UTC** timezone, which lines up with settlement periods exactly.

The payout for each period is then scheduled a set number of days later — your settlement period — and is processed on a business day.

### Understanding your pending balance[](#pending-balance "Direct link to Understanding your pending balance")

Your pending settlement balance in the dashboard is updated **once a day**. It's a daily snapshot, not a live, real-time total.

This means the figure you see during the day does **not** yet include the current day's transactions — those are added at the next daily update, before your payout goes out. As a result, the amount that's actually settled can be **higher** than the pending balance you saw earlier (more payments are still being added) — or **lower**, if refunds are processed against it. The pending balance is **not definitive until the payout is completed**; that final figure is the amount that reaches your account.

### Rolling reserve[](#rolling-reserve "Direct link to Rolling reserve")

A rolling reserve is a portion of each settlement that MONEI holds back temporarily as a buffer against future refunds and [chargebacks](https://docs.monei.com/fraud-prevention/chargebacks/.md). It protects you and MONEI when a payment is disputed or reversed after you've already been paid out.

Here's how it works:

* When a settlement is processed, MONEI withholds a percentage of that period's balance as the reserve — **10% by default**, adjusted to your business risk profile.
* At the same time, the reserve held from your **previous** settlement is released and added back into your current payout.
* Because every settlement releases the prior reserve while holding a new one, you always have roughly one settlement period's worth of funds in reserve — the balance "rolls" forward from one period to the next.

<!-- -->

Lower-risk accounts may have a smaller reserve — or none at all. As you build a consistent, low-risk transaction history, your reserve percentage can be lowered or removed entirely.

Reserved and released amounts appear on each payout in your dashboard under [Settings → Payouts](https://dashboard.monei.com/settings/payouts).

### View your payout history[](#payout-history "Direct link to View your payout history")

To view payouts in your dashboard, go to [Settings → Payouts](https://dashboard.monei.com/settings/payouts).

note

You can expect the bank transfer for each payout to take place after the **Completion date**.

### Using your own acquirer[](#own-acquirer "Direct link to Using your own acquirer")

If you use [payments orchestration](https://docs.monei.com/payments/orchestration/.md) with your own acquiring bank, that bank settles payments to you directly, on its own schedule and terms. The settlement times, rolling reserve, pending balance, and payout history above are specific to MONEI built-in acquiring and don't apply — check timing and terms with your acquirer.

## Fees[](#fees "Direct link to Fees")

<!-- -->

Each payout is charged a **€0.20 fee** (VAT-exempt). For current pricing, see [MONEI fees](https://docs.monei.com/manage-account/monei-fees/.md).

## Download your payout operations file[](#operations-file "Direct link to Download your payout operations file")

Every completed payout has a downloadable **operations file** — a line-by-line breakdown of the payments, refunds, and related adjustments settled in that payout. It's the file to use when you reconcile a payout against your own records or accounting.

To download it:

1. Go to [MONEI Dashboard → Settings → Payouts](https://dashboard.monei.com/settings/payouts).
2. Find the payout you want, then open its actions menu (the **⋯** button).
3. Click **Download operations file**.

The operations file becomes available once the payout's status is **completed**. If you'd rather receive settlement files automatically on a schedule, see [SFTP reports](https://docs.monei.com/manage-account/sftp-reports/.md).
