# Connect your Stripe account

This page only applies if you **bring your own acquirer or processor**. By default MONEI handles acquiring for you, so you don't need your own Stripe account.

[Stripe](https://stripe.com/) is a global acquirer and payment processor. If you already process card payments with Stripe, you can connect your Stripe account to MONEI and route card payments through it — while still using MONEI for the payment page, orchestration, and your other payment methods.

To connect Stripe you need your **Stripe Secret Key**. You can find and create API keys in your [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys) — see Stripe's guide on [API keys](https://stripe.com/docs/keys).

Keep your Secret Key confidential — it grants access to your Stripe account. Only enter it in your MONEI Dashboard.

## Connect Stripe in MONEI[​](#connect "Direct link to Connect Stripe in MONEI")

1. Sign in to your [MONEI Dashboard](https://dashboard.monei.com/). If you're not registered yet, [sign up](https://dashboard.monei.com/) and complete onboarding first — while filling in the **Payment details** form you'll provide your IBAN, which authorizes MONEI to collect your fees (you're notified before each collection).
2. Go to **Settings → Payment methods** and click **Configure** in the **Credit card** box.
3. Select **Stripe** as the payment processor.
4. Enter your **Stripe Secret Key** and save.
5. Once enabled, MONEI processes card payments through your Stripe account. [Integrate MONEI](https://docs.monei.com/getting-started/.md) with your website or e-commerce platform to start accepting payments.

No. By default MONEI handles acquiring and processing for you, acting as an all-in-one PSP. You only connect Stripe if you want to bring your own processor.

The card payments you route to Stripe. You can keep using MONEI's other payment methods and orchestration alongside it.
