MONEI Connect overview

MONEI Connect lets a business platform or marketplace offer payments to its own users under its own brand. You onboard merchants, operate their accounts on their behalf, and earn a revenue share — while MONEI handles KYC, compliance, and security.

This page explains, in plain terms, what MONEI Connect is and how the partnership works end to end. When you're ready to build, the MONEI Connect developer guide has the registration link, API keys, endpoints, and webhooks.

What is MONEI Connect?​

MONEI Connect is MONEI's integrated payments solution for business platforms and marketplaces. With one partner API, you build end-to-end payment experiences for the merchants on your platform without becoming a payments company yourself: you skip building your own payments stack, MONEI runs KYC and onboarding, and payments compliance and security are built in.

Who uses MONEI Connect​

Business platforms and software companies whose own customers need to accept payments — typically in hospitality, hotels, taxis, and ERP. A few MONEI Connect partners:

How the partnership works​

You get a master account (your partner account) and a registration link unique to you. Every merchant who signs up through that link is bound to your master account — these are your . From then on you can operate their accounts on their behalf and see all their activity in one place.

Fully-managed KYC​

MONEI fully manages Know Your Customer (KYC) for every merchant bound to your master account. Each merchant verifies their identity and the legitimacy of their business through MONEI's onboarding — you don't build or operate any of it. Because of regulatory obligations, each merchant must complete onboarding and sign their own contract with MONEI; you can't register merchants on their behalf.

Tracking your merchants​

Every merchant who registers through your link is automatically bound to your master account. You can also append your own external ID to the link so each merchant is easy to match against your own system — the ID is echoed back on every webhook. Supported payment methods​

Which methods you can offer your merchants depends on the integration.

Online: every method MONEI supports — cards, local methods like Bizum and MB WAY, and wallets like Google Pay, Apple Pay, Click to Pay, and more.

In person: cards, Bizum, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, accepted directly inside your own merchant app via the MONEI Pay SDKs.

Security and compliance​

MONEI's platform is PCI DSS Level 1 and PSD2 compliant, supports 3D Secure, and enforces Strong Customer Authentication. It also tokenizes sensitive card data so merchants can save payment methods securely.

Account visibility​

From your master account you can see every merchant's transactions, settlements, and applied fees in one place.

Your email first has to be bound to the master account — a one-time manual step. If it isn't yet, contact support. Then:

  • Log in to admin.monei.com.
  • Open Accounts.
  • Click a merchant to view its details, settings, billing, payouts, payment methods, and analytics.

You can also sort accounts by status from the navigation menu.

Common questions​

Can I partner with MONEI to offer payments to my clients?​

Yes. If your users need to accept payments, MONEI Connect lets you offer it. As a partner you:

  • Skip building and maintaining your own payments solution.
  • Let MONEI handle KYC and merchant onboarding.
  • Earn a revenue share.
  • Use MONEI's billing system to charge your merchants for additional services.
  • Avoid dealing with payment compliance yourself.
  • Offer your merchants more payment methods.

How do I set up the integration?​

Can I register merchants directly after setting up my master account?​

No. Because of regulatory obligations, each merchant must complete onboarding themselves and sign their own contract with MONEI. MONEI manages KYC, onboarding, security, and compliance for you — see how the partnership works.

What is the Partner API Key?​

After your partner account is set up, generate your Partner API Key at admin.monei.com/settings/api → Create API Key. It lets you call MONEI's APIs on behalf of every merchant bound to your account. Details in the developer guide.

Can I test the integration?​

Yes. Every partner account comes with a test twin, so you can build and test the entire integration before any merchant signs a contract. See Test mode and live mode and Testing.

What happens if a merchant has onboarding issues?​

Merchant onboarding is fully managed by MONEI. If a merchant hits a problem, a MONEI support agent typically responds within 24 to 48 hours.

What integration support do partners get?​

For complex integrations we open a free Slack channel during your first two months as a partner. After that, dedicated support is available for €39.99/day.
